Jose Marti International Airport or Havana Airport (IATA: HAV, ICAO: MUHA), also known for its former name Rancho-Boyeros Airport, is the main international airport serving La Havana, the capital of Cuba.


Havana Airport is located 15 km (9 miles) southwest of the city, in the municipality of Boyeros, on the East Coast of the island.   

About the name: Havana Airport is named after José Martí, a Cuban patriot and poet, considered for many Cuban people as a national hero.

Havana Airport is a hub for Cubana de Aviación, Aerogaviota, and Aerocaribbean.

About Havana

Havana, in Spanish La Habana, is the largest, capital city, cultural, political and financial center of the Caribbean island of Cuba. It was founded in the 16th century by the Spanish Empire for its strategic location for the conquest of the continent. The city is a walled fort, used to protect the old city. Nowadays, Havana can be divided in three different cities: Habana Vieja, Vedado, and new suburban districts.
